A variety of activities and projects are prepared by the teachers and the Burton 4-H Center staff at Tybee Island. The activities will be those learning experiences specifically applicable to marine education and the natural surroundings of the area.

Within this unit, students will embark on a journey through nature myths, employing TAG strategies to cultivate a richer and more imaginative comprehension of the underlying messages and meanings within each myth. By delving into these myths, students will unveil the profound insights they hold about our natural environment and its interconnectedness with the global community.

Money Matters

Money

Grades 3-4 

This unit delves into diverse avenues of generating income, encompassing roles such as an employee, a self-employed individual, a business owner, and an investor. Students will engage in an exploration of various savings account options, while also distinguishing between essentials, desires, assets, and liabilities. Moreover, the curriculum delves into the realm of money management, offering students valuable insights into effective financial stewardship.

Amusement Parks

During this unit, students will delve into the multifaceted world of amusement parks, exploring various aspects including economics, physics, attractions, themes, characters, and the people behind them. Through this exploration, students will not only gain insights into the intricate workings of amusement parks but also apply and recognize the principles of motion to enhance their understanding of its significance and its interconnectedness with the evolution and growth of amusement parks.
